The Faculty Bearometer sent the following question on April 8, 2026 to 1,578 faculty senate members:
How many total hours do you work in a typical week during the academic term (i.e., excluding exam weeks, major grant deadlines, or holidays)?
N=177 (11% response rate). We only surveyed regular faculty (no emerita). 106 of the participants had a primary appointment in a STEM department. Members from 31 of our 35 high-level unit/departments participated.
